drum-base-desk-with-an-open-shelf-and-live-edge-top
Drum-Base Desk with an Open Shelf and Live Edge Top

The slab top keeps its live edge along the front, with pale sapwood running through the darker heartwood in a long ragged line. Under the left end a flared support rises and spreads where it meets the underside. Under the right sits a drum, a rounded block of walnut with a circular opening cut through it and one shelf set inside for books.

Solid wood is the whole story here. The drum is shaped from thick stock, hollowed and smoothed, not a veneered shell. Nothing is printed. Every desk is built to order, so the sapwood line and the figure across your top come from the boards opened for your piece alone. We send photographs from the bench at each stage and wait for your approval.

The desk arrives in separate boxes. Top, flared leg and drum base are taken apart and packed one by one, which keeps edges safe and freight sensible. Printed assembly instructions are inside the packaging, and if something does not line up our team answers by email. Shipping is free worldwide with a tracking number sent when the boxes leave. Returns are open for 30 days.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0988/9388/9720/files/img-1_8bc2a5a7-2c5b-4d32-8ff0-2f8d00af6283.jpg?v=1792062189
